The dudes FREQNIK & WDRE have a bunch of really different stuff up on their Soundcloud from Latin and Moombahton edits to more traditional hip-hop blends to cheesy/fun MASHTASTIC stuff as well. It’s all definitely worth checking out though so check the stuff above and if you like it hit their Soundcloud!
Out now on MovelTraxx records is the Remixes EP of So Shifty’s huge tune from Da Movelt Posse Volume 3 “Lift Up Dat.” The EP features 3 huge remixes from our homies DJ Sega, Top Billin’s Sharkslayer crew, and Toy Selectah. Check the tracks above and cop below!
Our friend, mentor, and old-head DJ Ayres started a great mix series over on his website called “Heavy Warmup” where, in his own words “I’m sharing my favorite DJs’ warmup sets, showing you how the pros get a crowd moving without burning through all the big records before midnight.” Really dope series. If you’re a DJ, you know how frustrating it is when some new jack DJ thinks that playing all the hits at 10:47 PM is how you get a party crackin’. NAGL, YOUNG BOL! Anyway, Ayres did a mix, DJ Eleven did one, and now DJ Anonymous from the Top Billin crew did one. Great stuff and please let this be a lesson to all y’all aspiring DJ dudes: there’s literally THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of songs you could be playing in your opening set to get the party popping.
“As much as I’ve been into disco and house recently, I still love to play a lot of different things. Classic dancehall and early digital stuff especially has been close to my heart always, when Ayres asked me to take part in the Heavy Warmup series it was just the right excuse to finally put together a mix. No matter what you’re going to play later on Cocoa Tea should get the party started right. Enjoy!” – Anonymous
