Hopefully you haven’t been sleeping on BOB and Playboy Tre’s recent video output. First up is their collab with Philly’s own Meek Mill and the next joint has Tre returning to familiar subject matter– alkeehol. Check the videos and grab the downloads below as well. Shout out to The Motion Family who handled both of the vids.

THINGS WE LIKE: @JonathanMannion

And now for more THINGS WE LIKE! Honestly, I don’t know crap about Hip-Hop photorgraphy and photographers. The only reason I’m up on Jonathan Mannion is because I stumbled across some random post on Hypebeast about a show in Paris several weeks ago. He’s done some really amazing photography and captured some really iconic moments as the Vimeo videoclips below will quickly remind you. I’ve posted a couple of my favorites from his website above but I just thought I’d shout dude out on the blog real quick… because he’s ill! Anyway, go check his blog and follow the man on twitter after you watch the clips below.

@PlayboyTre MTVU Freshman Video

Do us a huge favor… head over to MTVU’s Freshman site and vote for Playboy Tre’s great “Earline’s Son” Video. It’s a really dope video for a really fantastic rap song by one of our favorite rappers Playboy Tre. Don’t forget to check out Emynd’s remix of “Ready Go” with Lil Jon and download Tre’s Last Call Mixtape for free.

Bill Withers Still Bill Documentary Finally Available!

I haven’t seen this yet but by all accounts it’s fantastic… and it’s finally available for purchase!

@ThemJean Balloons Video

Great new video from Them Jeans for his now classic “Balloons.” His words here:

This is my first music video, directed by an old friend of mine Chris and his partner Bill, who produce videos and many other things under the name Walter Robot. The video stars Chris’ brother Den, as he goes on a wild drug filled adventure through town, ending up in another stereotypical music video club scene. Den is often the muse in all of Chris’ work through the years, but he really gets to shine here. Chris has worked helping raise awareness for people with down syndrome throughout his life with various video projects such as this, and I’m glad to be a part in this strange and awesome experiment.

PROPS! “So Ghetto” (Produced by Vitamin D)

This is the kind of stuff that makes me proud of my hometown, Indianapolis. PROPS! is a former Indy resident now living in Seattle. I had never heard of dude until last week when I saw this video directed by my up and coming (NH) young homie Jace. Filmed in Naptown, Jace has been killing the music video game as of late. Peep his YouTube page for proof. First-rate production is provided by fellow Seatown native (and Jake One ally), Vitamin D.

@PlayboyTre – Earline’s Son Video

Another great video from CFB extended fam Playboy Tre on some heartfelt REAL RAP ish. His LAST CALL mixtape was one of my favorites of last year and it’s still free so GO DOWNLOAD IT AND SPREAD THE WORD! Go check the ridiculously dope “Ready Go” video we posted about a couple weeks ago and don’t sleep on my Gucci Mane remix featuring Tre as well!

@PlayboyTre ft Lil Jon – Ready Go Official Video

Dope and hilarious video from big homie Playboy Tre and the ultra-talented Motion Family squad. 2010 was a big year for Tre, stealing the show on B.O.B and TI’s “Bet I Bust” and releasing the really excellent free mixtape Last Call (which you should download RIGHT NOW if you haven’t already) and we’re rooting for him to do even bigger things in 2011. If you haven’t heard my Gucci Mane remix that he spit on too go grab it now!

You’re Very Beautiful

Congrats to my friend Nick Palermo who was involved in the publication of an extremely dope book. It is now out and can be purchased online at

It is a collection of pictures and words illustrating life in the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Frankford, Juniata, Kensington, Port Richmond, and Fishtown.

I’m really proud of these guys for putting in the effort to chronicle their lives and our city. They didn’t just do it, they did it well.
