Los Angeles’ own hallmark DJ and Producer DAN OH has spent the last half-decade or so building his name as one of the most hardworking DJs in the city by spinning at the now legendary Cinespace Dim Mak Tuesdays in Hollywood alongside the internationally renowned superstar Steve Aoki as well as CROSSFADED BACON labelmate THEM JEANS. But, not only has he has spent the last several years honing his craft and performing throughout the US and Europe, he has also successfuly spread his stubborn brand of Electro House and Techno across the globe, refusing to conform to flash-in-the-pan trends and always focusing on presenting unpredictable, aggressive, forward-thinking Dance music. Drawing influences from folks like The Prodigy to Steve Albini to Photek to Laidback Luke, Dan Oh’s music aspires to create a rich Big House aesthetic while simultaneously utilizing more aggressive Indie influences, creating an extremely unique Electro House sound that keeps his dancefloors on the verge of rioting at any given moment. On this, his debut release for CROSSFADED BACON, DAN OH clobbers us with two original compositions– “LYSIS” and “AIN’T DEAD YET”–that focus on an even darker interpretation of traditional Electro House tones than one might expect.
