Really dope EP for my main man Raziek from the mean streets of Montpellier. Go to the Top Billin Store IMMEDIATELY to cop the whole EP with my remix as well as a Top Billin remix and, of course, the excellent original. The EP will be available at Beatport and various other digital locations in a week or so, but we really appreciate you guys supporting the advanced release directly at the Top Billin Store. Also, don’t forget to hit up Discobelle for Raziek’s new mix.
Really psyched to be involved with this release and I’m also really happy with my track. Shit’s been a monster for me in the club the past few months. Hope you guys enjoy it and thanks for supporting!

Classic piano loop and Ron B (not to be confused with Ron C) just killing it. Perfect rap song.

Again, hoping to add to the scope of the material covered on this blog, I’m introducing a series called Weird Wednesdays that’s going to allow me to post whatever fucking random song I want (regardless if it’s really weird or not) on any given Wednesday. I’m starting this shit off with an absolutely grooving slow funk jam “Losalamitoslatinfunklovesong” from Gene Harris’s incredible album “Astral Signal.” Check the youtube above and if you fucks with it, download it below.

I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve recently had the pleasure of rediscovering a shitload of True School rap songs that dominated my teenage years over the past couple weeks. Every Tuesday, I’m going to try and share some of my favorites from the era. Most of these songs will be pretty obvious to anyone that grew up around this time, but as the world becomes increasingly digitized, it’s easy to lose track of stuff. Hopefully this will help remedy that loss.
And starting TRUE SCHOOL TUESDAYS off proper, I chose to hit y’all off with what is strangely one of my favorite beats of all time: Buckwild’s “Masta IC” for Mic Geronimo. Geronimo is a capable MC that had a couple solid albums, but he’s not really anything spectacular on the ‘phone. Just a solid rapper who doesn’t ruin beats. But there’s just something about this beat that I’ve always found really powerful even though it’s melodically fairly understated–just a rolling xylophone line and some heavy sub bass with a boombap breakbeat as the backbone. Buckwild has always been more than competent at constructing really full sounding production with a simple sample, filtered bassline, and a break.
More stuff to come.

Mr. Bliz got his journalism on this weekend by “interviewing” (if you can really call it that) troubled-Philly-kid-turned-international-
superstar-DJ, Mr. DJ AM. His story is certainly an inspiring one, regardless of how brief this interview is. If you have 16 seconds to spare, you can check the entirety of the interview HERE.
All jokes aside, shouts to the fine folks of Phrequency who are really doing a fine job of documenting the Philadelphia nightlife scene. And, they refered to Bliz as a “legendary local DJ” in the story! GET EM BLIZ!
