If you’re a DJ in Philly, you know Dirty South Joe. He’s a good friend of the CFB squad and just a really solid dude all around. He’s doing the 2011 AIDS Walk in New York and it’s a great cause so why don’t you head over there and donate ASAP? In the mean time, follow Follow Joe on twitter, check him out on Soundcloud and check some of my favorite mixes he’s done recently and not-so-recently:
I’m not ready to proclaim Jay Electronica the next coming of early 90s Nasir Jones, but I do find some his work (at the very LEAST) worth paying attention to. I’m kind’ve waiting until he hits me with an official project before I pass judgment on his ultimate worth but, that being said, this is a fun mix of original samples and some of his bigger songs from the dude J. Rizzle. Check it out!

New Emynd remix for Sabbo Soulico (the Sabbo from Israel, not to be confused with the equally talented Sabo from NYC). Is NOW out on Sabbo’s excellent MODERN PRIMITIVES EP available at all digital outlets on Scattermusic. Really hype about this release. Cop up!
In 2007, DJ Last Word released the compilation CD “Somewhere Between Fast Food & Vegan, Vol. 1.” A collection of remixes he had done for various Twin Cities MCs, Vol. 1 was created simply to make some food and beer money while on the road. As 2009 was ending, he decided to start working on Vol. 2, this time using a different approach and making a mixtape in reverse. Creating over 40 edits and blends for this new volume, Last Word re-worked some of his favorite hip hop songs with the originals that they were sampled from. He then chopped, blended and scratched them into the cohesive new banger of a mix “Somewhere Between Fast Food & Vegan Vol. 2.”
Presented by Crossfaded Bacon and Get Cryphy, “Somewhere Between Fast Food & Vegan Vol. 2” features re-edits of songs by Jay-Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne, M.O.P., Outkast, The Isley Brothers, Iron Maiden, Playboy Tre, Johnie Taylor, Henry Mancini and more. This edition also features special guest appearances from Minneapolis MC Prof, P.O.S., and Mike Mictlan of Doomtree plus Minneapolis’ Get Cryphy DJ crew on the cut. Pop it in you’re deck or iPod and ENJOY.
To prep for the mixtape and the return of the series, we’ve gone ahead and uploaded all 22 previous installments of the Mix Series on our Mixcloud page where you can stream each of the mixes in all their glory. If you’re not the streaming type, feel free to download any and all of the mixes RIGHT HERE as well. There’s literally something for everyone as you can see from the diverse discography below.
Thanks in advance for all the support and we’ll see you back on this page every 1st & 15th (but hopefully more often then that)!

Believe me when I tell you we’re back on the grind over here at Crossfaded Bacon Headquarters! We got a bunch of ill mixes and mixtapes set to drop in the coming weeks and months and we gonna just keep killing y’all with a variety of madness. Today, we’ve got a really dope *BEST OF ROD LEE* mix done by the fantastic, cosmopolitan, genre-jumping Uncle Jesse boys from Baltimore. Stream it above, download it below, and check the tracklisting after the jump. CLUB MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG! They’ve been killing the Moombahton game lately on their soundcloud and have put out some really ill new stuff (namely THIS and THIS). Keep your eyes on these bols!
This is the kind of stuff that makes me proud of my hometown, Indianapolis. PROPS! is a former Indy resident now living in Seattle. I had never heard of dude until last week when I saw this video directed by my up and coming (NH) young homie Jace. Filmed in Naptown, Jace has been killing the music video game as of late. Peep his YouTube page for proof. First-rate production is provided by fellow Seatown native (and Jake One ally), Vitamin D.
If you can’t tell by now, I really love double-timing slow jams into So So Def Atlanta Bass inspired stuff. I’m not sure if anyone is capable of liking this as much as I do, and I know it’s kind’ve tacky to be a fan of your own stuff, but god damn I really really love this shit. Even though dude looks like Jar Jar Binks, I’m officially a Lloyd fan. Hope y’all enjoy this half as much as I do. If you’re feeling this joint, check out my various other Booty Bass joints here.
