Freeway and Jake One “Beat Made Me Do It” (No DJ)

Jake One murders the soul sample loops and doesn’t even bother adding drums… and it’s all better for it! Freeway just sounds so perfect on this style of soulful, stripped-down production. Man this shit is so great. Jake One hooked up the Soulstrut messageboard with a No DJ download of the mixtape and I excavated it for y’all. Hope that’s not unethical? Who cares about Don Cannon yelling on this shit, just support The Stimulus Package when it comes out!

Emynd ft Roundhead *THE MOST HIGH EP* Preview

Next Tuesday, November 24th marks the release date of my newest release *THE MOST HIGH EP* featuring Roundhead on the vocals and excellent remixes by Top Billin, So Shifty, Federation Sound, and Mike 2600. The release also contains the previously vinyl-only cut “We Gon Make It” from the MCBU EP on Flamin Hotz as well as a brand spanking new joint called “Don’t Stop” both of which are posted after the jump with more info on the release.

I’m so psyched for this release. I’m really proud of the original, and each of the remixes really takes the song somewhere else.

Big ups to Kenny Meez for hooking me up with Roundhead.

Pill “Coastin”

I know Pill is all the rage on the interwebs these days, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, is it? He’s a really solid rapper that knows how to make really full songs. The always excellent Blvd St recently posted the above banger and it’s really effing good. Go grab it.

Gotta Find a New World (Emynd Edit)

Threw some drums under the Al Green classic just to beef it up a bit. Love this song.

Meek Mill “Gotta Be Startin Something”

The bol can RAP his ass off on anything over 90 bpm. Sounding illy and so Philly on this shit on some Tuff Crew or Cool C uptempo shit. So dope. Shitty bit rate posted below but at least aint no DJ on it so you can run it in the club anyway.

I AM A NERD

I dunno if most of the folks that come to this site know this about me, but I’m first and foremost a huge rap dork. I grew up listening to rap music for my entire life and spent a good portion of my high school years totally nerding out and trading tapes of hard-to-find West Coast Underground rap with folks all across the globe. I posted a bunch of rare Project Blowed stuff over at CBRAP HERE and HERE and if you’re at all into adventerous rap music, I highly suggest you swing by and check that shit out.

Honkey Breaks: “Bad Moon Rising”

Alright, this jawn is much sloppier than the past 2 Honkey Breaks but I’m too lazy to spend a shit load of time fixing it. Enjoy for what it’s worth.

Honkey Breaks: “Midnight Rider”

More Honkey Breaks for that ass. This time it’s the Allman Brothers “Midnight Rider” with the classic Bill Withers break running beneath it. I actually really like this. Shit is groovin’.
