Wow, mash up culture has really gotten out of hand. Shawty Lo rapping on Cold Play unironically? Amazing. Shawty Lo is too charming for me to resist even though Noz is telling me I shouldn’t like him anymore because “TI ripped his spine out Mortal Kombat style.” Even Noz admits that Shawty Lo sounds oddly appropriate on this song though. I mean, don’t get me wrong… this is pretty horrible, but I like the hell out of it!

Emynd Featuring Young Chris
“We Don’t Give A …”
The Remixes Digital EP
The long awaited Remix EP for Emynd’s Bmore Club/Philly Party Music Rap anthem “We Don’t Give A…” (original release here) with Rocafella/DefJam recording artist Young Chris is finally here and Crossfaded Bacon is releasing these tracks to you all for FREE, FREE, FREE! We recruited some of our favorite producers to submit remixes and we’re really happy with all of them. DJ Eli/Eli Escobar‘s excellent remix is on some updated-early 90s Native Tongue steez with blasting horns and a frenetic drum break while Cousin Cole‘s remix is equally as soulful with everyone’s favorite Sly and the Family Stone horn sample leading the charge on top of some excellent drum work. Likewise, DJ Ayres and the Nadastrom fellas give the song a complete overhaul (twice!) for two separate jukin’ remixes that differ slightly but significantly. Each of the remixes gives the track a whole new feel and we’ve played all of them out to excellent reactions in the club.
Download the Zip file below for the original and the remixes, or get each individual remix seperately. Whatever the case, thanks for the support and feel free to hit us with your comments!
Shouts out to Newt, Shareef, and Mark for help making this song happen and Steady B for the cover art inspiration!

Outkast Party Mix
DOWNLOAD (192 kps)
This month, our homie buddy Bobby Analog hits us off with a solid mix of Outkast party anthems that’s sure to keep your after-party swerving. My only complaint with the mix is that it’s a bit heavy on Ableton time-stretching, but otherwise, it’s a dope collection and we’re psyched that Bobby hit us off with it! Definitely helping me through my case of the Mondays right now.

LUNCH BREAK BEATS #13:
Sebastian Leger “Apocalypse” / Dajae “Everyday My Life”
(Emynd Blend)
![]() | The whole series can be found here. |

Another blend involving some Euro House, this time blending the soulful vocals from Dajae’s “Everyday My Life” right on top of Frenchman Sebastian Leger’s remix of Arno Cost and Norman Doray’s “Apocalypse.” I’m really into Leger’s remix, but I feel like the vocals add a lot more energy and give the song a bit of a different vibe. Thoughts and comments appreciated as always!

I’m dl’ing this right now. I’m certain its fire. Beans ALWAYS kills the mixtapes. Also, Kiss and Green Lantern got a new one out. I need that too.
ps- I’m assuming this is Beans rapping over a lot of Biggie beats.

Head over to Flamin Hotz Website and join their Record Club. The basic pitch is that you can pay a fee ahead of time and be guaranteed delivery of all the Flamin Hotz releases in 2009. Flamin Hotz is an adventerous label that has put out two Emynd & Bo Bliz records amongst a wide variety of other stuff–some of which I’m into and some of which I’m frankly not into. But, the point is, they’re a dope label that deserves and, unfortunately in this tough economy, NEEDS your support to keep making records. So, get like me and support their ass! I paid em and so should you!
DO IT NOW!

If you’re in Toronto, this Saturday is
F*CKFACES 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY, a party which Bo and I have played several times. To celebrate Dougie Boom made a dj mix with all the acts who have played at F*ckfaces throughout its 5 years. Go to the party and download the mix here:

I don’t have a ton to say about this song except I love the original “Bra” (who doesn’t?) and just thought a quick Bmore/Party Break would be useful at certain parts of the night. As always with remixes of classic songs, I try to keep them as tasteful as possible, so this shit is hella simple with very basic chops. Put it in your “Opening Set Bmore” subcrate or something!

XXL Magazine ranked Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II the sixth most anticipated album of the year … in 2007. Now here we are in ’09 wondering what politics and fall-offs have kept this album – which has high classic Wu-reunion potential – out of our sweaty little hands. Hip hop needs this, and word on the street is that we won’t have to wait much longer for the full release . I’m hoping to at least make the album a summer staple. In the meantime the latest leaked tracks sound nice and make me remember back when I had “Criminology” as the voicemail background on my corny little purple Skypager.
LUNCH BREAK BEATS #12:
Axwell “I Found You” / Pase Rock “Get Money Kids” (Emynd Blend)
![]() | The whole series can be found here. |
My obsession with cheesy Swedish house continues… but I don’t give an eff what anyone says, the piano loop and breakbeat on “I Found You” is some of the most soulful ish I’ve ever heard. That ish is so hard, man. So yeah, I basically looped up the beginning of “I Found You” and made a Hip-House song out of this with Pase Rock’s “Get Money Kids” ‘pella. Already played this out a couple times and it’s worked really well. The build ups and break downs work really well and build a lot of energy. This is one of the better blends I’ve done recently. BANG IT! And leave some thoughts in the comments section if you feel inclined to do so.

LUNCH BREAK BEATS #10:
Pryda “Armed” / Sean Paul “Temperature” (Emynd Blend)
![]() | The whole series can be found here. |

My man Bushy has been schooling me on the wonders of really cheesy Swedish House music, and I’ve been making a bunch of edits and blends of some of my faves that will work better in some cross-over situations–especially for people more familiar with hip-hop and dancehall. This Pryda and Sean Paul blend is the first in a bunch that will be coming over the couple weeks and months. Enjoy! As always, thoughts and comments are encouraged!

Man, y’all can sit up here all quiet and whatnot just because it’s 4:30 and you can’t take much more of the work week, but I’ve already mentally checked out of this piece and into a 1998 state of mind. As always I’ve been prepping myself for the gems that Emynd and Bo Bliz are about to drop on Saturday, and since it’s my thing to bring the throwbacks I’m gonna have to steal a little of their thunder by reminding folks about Outkast’s “Skew It on The Bar-B,” my favorite track from 1998’s Aquemini. The video quality is kind of garbage but Wu Tang and Outkast is like chocolate and peanut butter. Delish.
