Axwell “I Found You” / Pase Rock “Get Money Kids” (Emynd Blend)

LUNCH BREAK BEATS #12:

Axwell “I Found You” / Pase Rock “Get Money Kids” (Emynd Blend)

Emynd’s Lunch Break Beats is a series of club-friendly blends, edits, or beats Emynd produced on his laptop (usually while sitting in his car on some random side street in Wilmington, D-ware just after eating his WaWa lunch) while on his lunch break at his 9 to 5.

The whole series can be found here.

My obsession with cheesy Swedish house continues… but I don’t give an eff what anyone says, the piano loop and breakbeat on “I Found You” is some of the most soulful ish I’ve ever heard. That ish is so hard, man. So yeah, I basically looped up the beginning of “I Found You” and made a Hip-House song out of this with Pase Rock’s “Get Money Kids” ‘pella. Already played this out a couple times and it’s worked really well. The build ups and break downs work really well and build a lot of energy. This is one of the better blends I’ve done recently. BANG IT! And leave some thoughts in the comments section if you feel inclined to do so.

LUNCH BREAK BEATS #11:

Claude VonStroke & Christian Martin “Groundhog Day” / Pitbull & Young Boss “Girls Gone Wild” (Emynd Blend)

I meant to post this ON Groundhog Day, but I missed it by a couple days. Close enough. Anyway, I’m reconsidering calling this series “STUFF THAT SOUNDS HORRIBLE ON PAPER BUT ACTUALLY WORKS” because this blend is a perfect example… it sounds like it’s the stupidest idea ever on some OMG MASH ISH, but this is actually pretty tasteful in my humble opinion. I didn’t have an acapella for the Pitbull and Young Boss song, but the beat/song is in key with the CVS and Christian Martin tune so I filtered out the kicks in the rap song and blended the two… and frankly, I think they sound awesome together and compliment each other well. I’m not exactly sure how useful this blend is or who the hell would be interested in hearing it but eff it, I think it sounds dope which is reason enough for me to post it.

Enjoy and please feel free to hit me up with some comments!

Alright so I mixed this one up a little. Some semi-new stuff and a lot of slept on shit. Too many times when I hear people play club music they play all the same five old songs or some new unrecognizable garbage. THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE. There is loads of hard-ass club that people forget about that its a sin. Haven’t y’all heard about that “new-old shit”?

Jay-Z “Go Hard” Remix & next level parties

OK. This is not new, but I thought I would link it, just because Jay kills it, and otherwise this song annoys the hell out of me. I don’t sweat Jay verses on down south shit just cause he’s Jay or something like that (most of the time them down south boys handle their own biz), but this one is exceptional. Also, DAMN! Khaled needs a new song formula. You know how all that reggaeton shit got ridiculously epic with 60 second un-mixable intros, I feel like Khaled is getting equally as over-indulgent. I’m not hating, but it’s time for the bol to switch the style up.

Jay-Z “Go Hard” Remix

Now then… Last saturday, the same night Emil and I threw our 1998 party (which was off the fucking hook), some brothers from Philly threw a party down in AC that people was truly epic. Now, our party was hot, but their party had its own website with a 10 minute long movie preview style film clip about them planning the party. Some of the scenes included them chilling on the couch with house arrest anklets, answering phones while swimming in pools with their shirts on, driving maybachs to AC, and ends with them PERSONALLY inviting YOU to come to their party. Watching this was an inspiration to throw and promote parties.

I should also note that people I know that went to the party said it was off the hook and I saw pictures of it that corroborated that.

So hot. Oh yeah, them dudes can dress too, pause.

My man Bushy has been schooling me on the wonders of really cheesy Swedish House music, and I’ve been making a bunch of edits and blends of some of my faves that will work better in some cross-over situations–especially for people more familiar with hip-hop and dancehall. This Pryda and Sean Paul blend is the first in a bunch that will be coming over the couple weeks and months. Enjoy! As always, thoughts and comments are encouraged!

DJ Class ft Lil’ Jon “I’m the Ish” (Remix)

I’ve already had my salty little diatribe chastising the Clear Channelization of Philly radio that keeps the same 20 songs in rotation on Philly radio for 6 months and subsequently prevents the radio DJs of this city really help develop a healthy local/regional scene, so I’ll spare you those thoughts and just bask in the glory that is this song. DJ Class’s OG “I’m the Shit” was so dope that JD and Traysongz hopped on the beat to drop verses having no idea who the hell it was, and this track was just recently scooped by a major (Universal, I believe). And, of course, what better way to christen a new remix than to invite Lil Jon to get up on it and ride that beat. If you’re familiar with Bmore at all, you know damn well that besides the Lyn Collin’s “Think” break, Lil Jon “What” and “Yeah” samples are standard fare in what is known in Bmore simply as “Club music.” This represents the first time Lil Jon actually makes a non-sampled appearance on a Club song, and that’s a momentous occasion as far as I’m concerned.

Here’s to hoping this track blows on a major, major scale and helps make Bmore Club a household name.

FLO-RIDAS SIDE A

This month, our homie Kenny Fiesta stopped by to hit us with a club and pop-focused mix of Floridian jams. Here’s his description of this hella fun mix:

This is ‘Flo-Ridas’ Side A of a 100 minute mixtape…when I went to Miami this year, my boys asked me to make a tape for when we rented a car. This is what came out of it…I went back and did it right. This was actually done entirely in Adobe Audition. Every artist is from Florida, and usually stacked to get a full dose of them. We’re also big Pitbull fans, as in 2007 on a 4 hour drive from Tampa to Miami, we heard all his albums.

Side B coming soon, but for now, enjoy Side A, (even if it is a bit heavy on Crossfaded Bacon Anti-Favorite Plies songs)!

Stevie Wonder “All About the Love Again” (autotune?)

Yup. Stevie does autotune and as my man wayne said- this autotune shits use is a style thing, not a can’t sing thing (well… not all the time). While the autotune effect is very slight, its on there and I’m sure people are gonna hate on it regardless. GOAT!!!!!!!!

NEW STEVIE!!!

New Rich Boy “Drop”

Big ups to DJ Benzi (NSFW website) for putting me up on this amazing Three Six Mafia remix of Santogold Phil $’s ex-babysitter’s “Shuv It.” Project Pat kills it and the beat is typcial Three Six madness.

BTW, what’s up with this “I Love Project Pat” gear?
